Unfortunately, due to the severe construction recession of 1974, the company he worked for went out of business, causing him to make the decision to start his own business. With one pickup truck and a helper, Bill started Ganz Plumbing Co. by following dump trucks around Davie to job sites where he would leave business cards on barbwire fences in the hope of getting the opportunity to bid on the plumbing work.
As time went on in the 1980s, with the construction side of the business growing, he expanded to include a service department. This department has become a large part of the business today with the help of two of his sons, Bryan and Brad. The company also employed Bill’s sister, Rosemary, who does a great job handling the phones and managing the office.
